The attic is where we put things we don’t know what to do with that are too precious to destroy. Some things are mysterious and some things are just old and in the way. We have to clean house sometimes but we can meditate a long time before we do it. A journal from the 1970s might fall out of a box into the light, for instance. I find attics very useful places.
